Burn the Confederate Flag Day - Progressive Blogger

An anonymous blogger in Washington State, who happened to be liberal is hoping progressives across the nation will show up at a tea party rally on September 12th and burn the confederate flag (if legally possible).

General JC Christian, who writes the satirical anti-conservative blog Jesus’ General, says he’s serious about Burn The Confederate Flag Day, which he announced Sunday night on Facebook and the web.

He has created a website using Google sites hosting to spread the message. The website states

Burn the Confederate Flag Day is a protest against the right’s exploitation of racial prejudice for political gain.  We urge you to burn the Confederate flag, a long-time symbol of racial hatred, on Sept 12, the date when the racially-divisive Tea Party holds its annual hate fest.

September 12 is right up there with Tax Day in importance on the tea party calendar. The date comes from Glenn Beck, who helped launch the movement as we know it today with the first 9/12 rally in Washington, DC back in 2009. The 9/12 Project, as Beck’s yearly protest is named, is “designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001,” according to the project’s website. “The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.”
