Lets just say, if John Adams has succeeded in his tough policies on immigration back a century ago. We probably would not have Irish Americans and Italian Americans. Let alone Asian and Indian Americans. The guy even wanted to ban citizenship through naturalization back then. Sure, there will be lot of support from middle American and down south, if this were to be proposed today, but at what cost?
